October 2004
Dear RENEW
Friends,
May fall’s clear
azure blue sky and the colorful pallet of fall leaves remind you of
our faithful creator who wants to add clarity and beauty to our
lives—the clarity of His truth, and the beauty of Jesus Christ.
Knowledge of both
truth and Jesus come to us through the Word of God. As Carl F.
Henry so aptly stated, “Apart from the Bible no firm reply exists
against the rampant unbelief and strident skepticism of our age, no
sure way around the contorted detours of modern culture, no lasting
alternative to the extraordinary evils that plague our generation.”
—Carl Henry At His Best: A
Lifetime of Quotable Thoughts
Over the years,
the RENEW Network has pointed women to program resources that are
Biblically-based and Christ-centered. We have produced some
excellent supplemental program resources that fit this category and
have recommended other materials meeting this criteria. Some of
RENEW’s previously produced resources are showcased on our web site
at
www.renewnetwork.org.
On the first day
of autumn, September 22, the 2004 RENEW Writer’s Workshop was held
on the eastern shore of Virginia. Nine women gathered to write
materials for our next major release which will be titled, “Offering
Jesus.” This resource will be ready for distribution by the first
of the year.
In the meantime,
several program resources were submitted to RENEW for
consideration. Eight programs have been edited and put into a
user-friendly format. These programs are now available for your
use. You may request them by using the enclosed order form. Along
with the programs we will include a listing of additional resources
from our “Inspiring Models for Effective Women’s Ministry”
notebook.
If you are needing
supplemental program resources for your UMW group or women’s
ministry group, send for these programs—and, be watching for the
January release of our “Offering Jesus” program book.
Your financial
gift this month will help defray some of the expense incurred in
producing quality supplemental resources for our network members,
and in keeping the RENEW office open to assist the women of our
network with information and support as we continue the Call for
Reform.
Sincerely in
Christ,
