July Prayer

Dear Team, Recently I watched a Billy Graham special feature on George Beverly Shea, who has sung for the Billy Graham Crusades for many years. He is 98 years old. This program was so refreshing to me. One has to think of what God must think of His faithful servants, such as Billy Graham and George Beverly Shea. Perhaps Zephaniah 3:17 captures God’s esteem for those who are faithful:
The Lord your God is with you, May we be among those whom the Lord loves and rejoices over with singing! As we celebrate the birth of our nation, we are thankful for God’s blessing upon America. In times past, He has surely delighted in the nation and its faithfulness to His precepts. Now…one wonders if the song is still on God’s lips for the U.S.A. Still, we thank Him for the freedom we continue to enjoy and for the right we have to worship Him and to evangelize the nation. We also pray for His mercy and grace to continue toward us. Continue to pray for the situation in Juarez, Mexico. Things have not improved. Kidnapping seems to be high on the list of these evil people. There are people who can no longer visit their families in Juarez. Business men who work in Juarez and are targets for kidnapping and ransom. Pray for the Jurisdictional Conferences to be held in July, and for the election of new bishops. The conferences will meet simultaneously July 16-19 in their respective regions, except for the Northeastern Jurisdiction, which meets July 13-18. The locations are: North Central, Grand Rapids, MI; Northeastern, Harrisburg, PA; Southeastern, Lake Junaluska, NC: South Central, Dallas, TX; and Western, Portland, OR. Nine new bishops are slated for election. Thanks be to God for the positive changes which were made to the 2008 Social Principles paragraph on abortion. Pray that people do not become discouraged by what was NOT accomplished (withdrawal from RCRC, etc), but that instead God fills them with a greater desire and motivation to persevere in behalf of life with His help and guidance. In Christ, Peg Peg |
